2nd trip to Astoria

On Monday we all (Grandma, Grandpa, Gus, Luc and myself..no Great Grandparents) went back over the bridge to Astoria. We did the Costco / Fred Myer run again, and also hit up the new Home Depot down there (big news!). Before we stopped at all the stores, we went on a trolley ride around Astoria (only a $1!). When we went over to see the Tall Ships a month or so ago, Lucas saw the trolley and has been dying to ride it since. So we finally made it back over...and he loved it.

I've never seen him so quiet with anything. He was studying everything going by. The only time he talked was when he saw a big ship or when we stopped to let someone on, he'd ask "we no done?"

I didn't get the camera on in time, but Gus and Luc both had the same look on their face that Luc has in this pic. It was pretty cute.

The trolley went right over the water. The engineers kept talking about how long it was (the track was built in 1889 and the trolley was built in 1913) so it was really comforting to hear when we were 30 feet above water.

I think the next time we're in Astoria (probably tomorrow with how this weather is..) we'll go on the trolley again. Cheap and interesting entertainment that everyone enjoyed :)

1st trip to Astoria

I only have one picture for the trip to Astoria, but it's well worth it :)

Grandma Janeen, Lucas, the Great Grandparents and myself went to Astoria on Saturday for the usual Costco / Fred Myers run. It was a long day of walking and chasing around Lucas (who was being just an angel....). I guess they were both pretty exhausted after the day was done. I didn't get Great Grandma in the shot (she was on the other side of Luc), but I'm pretty sure she was sleeping too. I know Grandpa did nod off a few times while driving also :)

Long ride to the ocean

I got the pleasure of driving from work in Seattle all the way down to Long Beach / Ocean Park all by my lonesomes on Friday. ...but I did enjoy it some since I was stuck in some horrible traffic (that wouldn't have been any fun with a 3 year old..or Gus for that matter! hehe) The trip should have only taken about 3 or 4 hours, took close to 6. So to entertain myself, I took many pictures with the phone, and sang my little heart out to my ipod. It was great to sing at the top of my lungs with Gus or Luc complaining...but I did have to stop a few times because I was annoying myself! Not an easy task to do, but that just shows what an amazing singer I am! :)

This was about hour 5. I was getting a little bored. Like the Elvis lip? haha

These are basically the same picture...I just couldn't decide if I like the sun more to the left, or to the right. (like I said, I was getting pretty bored...). And, I did stop the car to take these pictures. I was hoping the tide would be in so the water would be all the way up to the tree line, but I never seem to time this drive correctly. It's so beautiful (even more) when the tide's in.

I was trying to get some good views.

There are some parts of the drive that remind me of Kansas. This was the only one I got a picture of. I tried to get some others that really look like KS, but I was either driving too fast to get the camera going or just didn't think about taking a pic.

Whatever

So I didn't include the Chad in the last blog. I am so sorry! :)

Here's one of him chasing the kiddies around with the bubble blower. Everyone got a soap bath that day! :)

A Zubal Reunion

All the Zubals of the world (alright, maybe not all, but enough) met on July 26th for our 1st Annual Zubal Reunion. We got together at a huge state park in Everett..or Marysville (it's all that far north). For those who don't know, the Zubal side of the family comes from Gus' mom, Janeen. Kara and Kathy put everything together. It was pretty fun. The kids had a blast.

Sarah and Luc had fun with the "wind socks" (I can't think what they're really called) for awhile. I didn't get a pic of it, but Abby was pretty cute playing with the them. The sticks are too big for her, so she sat down on the top of the hill and played that way. Smart cookie!

Abby is so cute! She loved Kai's little doggie chair.

The kids (mostly the girls) had a potato sack race. They all were pretty good at it! I was surprised there weren't any tumbles...I know I would have been flat on my face if I did it! Sarah, Freddie, and Julia had the first race.

Emily and Anna had the 2nd race. Lucas was supposed to be in this one, but he was too chicken to go up against his girl cousins :)

Kai just had his own race with the truck!

Luc and Emmy had fun yelling at each other through the Shout thingys. They played that game for a good, long while!

Kara had a game of "Stick the sticker on the Clown". All the kids were pretty good at it, but Emmy took it to another level! haha She stuck her nose on the clown nose! She won for being the most creative!!

We had a turtle pinata to break open. Now with this group, you would think it would only take seconds for the thing to get busted. I stopped counting how many kids hit that thing before it broke. It was made with some strong industrial strength glue!!

And all Abby wanted was the head. Interesting.... :)

Abby was giving Great Grandma Zubal some big loves. Poor Grandma's face was nice and sticky afterwards though!

I have tons more pics of the reunion, but there's just too many for this. If anyone wants any, just let me know and I'll email them to you.

Killin' time

I had to be at work at 7am to let in some painters...it's 8:30 now, and they're still not here. To top it all off, I've called their office and it doesn't open until 9am. I love my work sometimes haha

Well, I really wanted to start off the first couple blogs with older pics of our little family and go from there (like our "wedding") but that means I have to scan pics and that could take awhile before I actually do it :) Just being honest..

Well, we're in the process of finding another place. Where we're currently living isn't working out. I found this duplex in Parkland (going home folks!) for only $895. The Landlord sounds super nice and we "connected" haha. She's a new Grandma, her daughter had a little girl 7 weeks ago, so she's really liking that we want to live closer to my parents since her daughter is in Seattle. She feels my parent's pain :) Hopefully next week we'll see the place. The renters are on vaca right before they move out (who does that??). The house is actually like .2 miles from my parents house. If you know Parkland, theres that road across from Keithley and Washington's fields (Garfield) and there's this half of a street (no idea what it's called)..well the house is right off that road. Super close.

I suppose I should get back to looking busy at work. Blah. Here's the latest pic I have of Luc and me. It took me a long time to catch him for this one. The little guy is fast! :)

My first try!

Ok, so now that I have time to breathe at work, I can start wasting my time doing Blogs! :)
I'm going to keep this one short and just mess around with adding pics and whatnots.
Wish me luck!

Here's one of the fam down at Ocean Park in Nov. I think that's the last family pic we've done...I'd say we're a little over due!
